A red dress and a good gallop…
Well, any of you at the yard will know that our lovely aunty Emma got herself hitched to the darling Paddy on Saturday, check out the news page. Having only seen the photos I can truly say that she looked stunning and was a true lady in red, after all being a red head myself, red is best…… I do believe that a good time was had by all, and my mum had a super hangover on Sunday morning, which is probably why she rode me like a right baboon at Munstead. Kate did her proud as her ‘best woman’ but Bert has been most put out that he wasn’t invited, good job really, his table manners are appalling.
This week has been quite quiet at the yard with most having a few days off after camp. Brandy was just glad to be home, Boysi couldn’t wait to get out with Bert for a few boys games and Tilly caught up with the latest gossip from Pippa. Pippa got busy with her mum and was off to pony club lots this week as its coming to the end of the summer for her plus they did their B test, and although she was a right witch jumping with her mum, she passed with flying colours. Ruby went off for some help with her jumping and Chloe was left with me and Percy, they normally go together so she was feeling a bit low but Percy managed to cheer her up with stories of his show jumping exploits many years ago, he was a bit of a lad in his day…..
Me? Well, Munstead was the order of today. We thought it was going to rain and although we had a few bits of rain for the dressage it managed to hold off and we even got some sun through! The dressage was not bad, but there is just so much to look at! Especially the horses over the back of the judges car, i had to have a good look, I may have known one of them. Still, it was one of my better scores and mum put in my new bit for the show jumping, sadly the first 2 fences were so small, I just couldn’t see them and they fell over. I need a meaty fence after all I am 16 hands high. The best bit for me was the cross country, I really get it now…. go fast, i actually cantered out of that funny white box for the first time today, the first fence was little but the others were yum and I just told my mum to hold tight and just let me know if its left or right! I even over took another horse on the course!! Yee HAR! I got 2 packets of polos and lots of grass when I finished so I must have done good. My mum said that one day we will get it together…. who knows huh??!!
I checked out the comments just before I signed on tonight and saw that Durjke had left mention of her tongue tatoo, for the record, I have no desire to see her tongue tatoo… how chav! I never offer to show her my sarcoids…. don’t know how Hek puts up with her really. Anyway, time to sign off for this week, I’m so tired and am off to put my clay clad legs up on the banks of my straw to get some well deserved zzz’ds. Have a good week everyone. lol B xx

Percy says: Sounds like you had an excellent time at Munstead, I get the feeling that Mum has forgotten all about me! I’ve been reading all the right ‘how to’ dressage books so it’s about time I got back in the news now that my leg is soooooo much better. If she’s really nice I might even be up for a bit of eventing myself, as long as there are none of those big black holes where the monsters live!

pssst! hey Blarney! has your mum said anything yet about clipping? I really DONT get it – the weather starts to get cold so we grow nice thick coats- and then the olds go and clip themoff!! WHY? And to make matters worse, they go out and compete with each other for the smartest and most ‘have-to-have-it’ rug which we then have to wear! they moan when we try and disguise it by rolling in the mud, and heaven-help-you if you TEAR IT!!!!! All this talk of clipper blade sharpening is making me feel rather uncomfortable!

Dear Barney,
Well, I am now going to call you Barney until you get my name right. It’s DURKJE not DURJKE!! It’s not my fault I have such a stupid name – blame the Dutch breeder. My father was Obe which is even worse and my mother Janneke – now that is a chav name.
You should come and have a chat to my gingerninja field mate about going fast across country – it’s the only thing he’s good at! In fact in the show jumping he goes so fast he just runs through all the fences so 2 down is pretty good. I don’t like touching any fences as I may break a nail so I daintily (well, like a hippopotamus) trot up to them and pop over making sure that I never have four feet off the ground at the same time.
Just for your information my tongue tat is very exclusive and down to my fine breeding – CHAV!? The very cheek of it xx
