A Busy Bank Holiday…..

Hello again, I’m a bit late with my blog this week as it has been such a busy weekend!  Although Mum and the gang were away last week, she came back with a vegence late Friday and had me and Percy back in the office early Saturday morning!

It was great to hear from my pal Tom, although its cold up there, its hardly been tropical down here, the weather is rubbish, Kathy didn’t know whether to put our rugs on or not last week.  I have heard through the haystack that Tom has been rather naughty though and nearly dropped his mum, Sam. Thats what you get for eating too much grass!  Never our problem down here…..

The yard has been pretty quiet over the weekend as our trainer Sandra had her camp this Bank Hol and 3 of the horses were up there strutting their hooves.  Myself and Percy popped up on the Sunday for a jump round the show jumps and to say hi to some of our old friends.  Tilly and Becky have really got it together and jumped a superb round, apparantly, they have both come on leaps and bounds if you know what I mean and Trainer is very pleased with them both.  Boysie has done extremely well too, considering that last time he went out he spent most of the time waving at everyone with both front feet.  I guess he feels a bit more relaxed about things these days.  Brandy was really excited at the beginning of the camp but then realised that it was like boot camp and Annette really had to ‘boot’ her to get her out of the barn the rest of the time she was there!  Still, I think they all enjoyed themselves, including the girlys who apparantly drunk far to much grape juice on Satuday eve.

It was great to see some old friends like Lucero, Merlin, Durjke and Orlando, although Percy was very rude to them, he can be so embarrassing at time and so arrogant!  My jumping went well and with my new bit in I now have a braking system which makes my Mum feel more in control.  Percy was very excitable and pranced round the field like Darcy Bussell, he may be able to jump big but there really was no need to jump THAT big when the fences were no more than 2′9.  He strutted back into the barn like he has just cleared the 6′4 puissence wall, although we did all see him stop at the tiny brush fence.  He really is up himself.

The others back at the yard have been busy too, Pippa was out at Oxted and Edenbridge on the Saturday and notched up a 4th in the Riding Class and Chloe and Ruby have gone there today with Chloe jumping the big girls stuff, will have to see how they got on later.  Bert has had some quality time in the field without Boysi annoying him, so I think he has enjoyed the rest.  Its the wedding of the year next weekend for his mum, so things have quieten down a bit for him lately.  Mind you, I have seen Kate up and about a bit more since she slimmed down…

Well, they will all be back today from Camp so I expect it will be blah blah blah all night long so will get my ear plugs out or turn my ipod up. Speak to you all soon. lol B xx
